Where The Wild Things Are
So I finally caught up with this movie and I have to say that I was quite impressed. First thing, this is in no way a kids film - it is a film about a kid. And just like a kid this film is violent, emotional, immature, messy, and petty. Yet it is also sweet, imaginative, and loving. Max is amazingly honest in his performance here. I cannot believe this film was made by a major studio. This is a very small film which is crazy beautiful but still small at its core. Overall “Where The Wild Things Are” is great at what it sets out to be. I enjoyed it but I can completely understand how people would hate this. It gets downright depressing for much of its run-time. Anyways - go watch it. One of a kind experience. Visually worth the cost of admission alone.
